SHuR Farms Cold Air Drain® selectively drains only the coldest air layer from the orchard/vineyard floor, expelling it upward 300 feet, where it is dispersed into the inversion layer. The warmer air can then move down and replace the cold air. Our Cold Air Drain® is a mechanical device consisting of a vertical shaft with blades spinning horizontally, parallel to the ground. It may be used alone or with other frost protection methods (wind machines, heaters, sprinklers, etc.) to maximize their benefits.
